InterPlay Launches Exuberant Campaign

On September 30, Body Wisdom, Inc., launched The Million Connections Campaign, with a regional fundraising event in Seattle, WA. The goal of the campaign is to create one million InterPlay connections by the end of 2012. Each time InterPlay is shared, either in small ways or big, a healthy connection gets made that strengthens the web of peace and understanding in the world. We’re also going to raise $1 million to support three major initiatives: spreading InterPlay regionally, creating outreach opportunities to take InterPlay where it is needed nationally and internationally, and to build a solid foundation for InterPlay into the future.

Who’s Counting?? Update 3/12/10

The number of different people who have logged in connections (either through the website or at InterPlay events) has jumped to 91!

And a great group of folks have logged in connections more than 10 separate times: Dick Dewid, Dorothy Finnigan, Ginny Going, Krista Harris, Brian Herring, Mary Ellen Lewis, Harriet Platts, Nika Quirk and Diane Rawlinson.

Count Jumps Over 70,000!

Thanks to all those who are logging in their connections, the count has passed the 70,000 mark. This was greatly helped along by a wonderful article by Kristin Lewis in Dance Teacher Magazine featuring the work of Diane Rawlinson at Wheeling High School outside of Chicago and an article about InterPlay in Raleigh, NC, in the News and Observer.

Counting Up!

We are inviting InterPlayers around the world to count up their InterPlay connections as of Sept. 30, 2009.

What counts? In general terms, a connection is anytime a bit of InterPlay happens between two or more people.
Could be a small bit or a big bit.
Could be an overt bit or a sneaky bit.
Could be in person or electronic.
Could involve using a form, or just sharing a tool or idea.

Soon we hope to have a counter that will automatically update the number at the top of the page, but for now, we’ll try to update it every couple of days. Keep checking back to see how we are all doing and don’t forget to record your connections!

This summer a group of 40 InterPlay leaders gathered for a retreat in North Carolina totalled up their InterPlay connections over the previous couple of months. The total was over 33,000! Although we’re starting our count anew as of the official beginning of the campaign on Sept. 30, we have no doubt that we can reach our goal!

InterPlay to Raise $1 Million

To support the vision of creating a million InterPlay connections, the national Board of Directors of Body Wisdom, Inc., has launched a fundraising campaign to raise commitments totalling $1 million dollars over the next three years. These funds will support three primary initiatives:

expanding the already lively development of regional InterPlay

sharing the wisdom of InterPlay through visionary outreach projects nationally and internationally
building the strong underlying structure that will propel InterPlay into its next twenty years and beyond.

Help Us Reach Our Goal!

The Board of Body Wisdom, Inc., is making personal commitments to incremental giving over time and invites others to do the same. What transformation could take place in locations around the world as InterPlay expands and grows? In particular, we invite those who are able to make pledges over a 5-year period. Those who make a pledge of at least $40 a month for 5-years can become members of the Giving Wings Society, a group of InterPlay supporters who have made generous pledges to helping the spread of InterPlay. InterPlayers know a lot about power of incrementality—taking small steps toward a larger goal—and also about long-term commitment. That is the way that real change happens.
