For use in Coaching, Art, Supervision, Mentoring, Spiritual Direction and Peer Support

Oakland, CA

Friday May 10th 1:30pm-5pm; Saturday 10am-4:30pm

Are you curious about offering a focus session to peers or in your line of work? Would you like to witness or receive a focus session but don't want to lead any?

Many say that the InterPlay focus session is the most transformative part of their InterPlay journey. Focus sessions offer a unique way for an InterPlayer to play with something they choose with the undivided attention of a facilitator. Just 30 minutes in length, they can include the powerful experience of being witnessed by an affirming community.

Learn how to support an InterPlay focus sessions that is approached with the understanding that we are creating, not healing. There is no expectation to work on our deepest, hardest life material. The time can be spent inviting light-heartedness, building skill with a specific form, sharing one’s pride in being good at something, gently nurturing oneself, resting, etc, or asking our body wisdom for guidance.

Friday 2-5pm
Cynthia will introduce the elegant, down to earth focus session process that includes movement, storytelling forms, and noticing. Trusting the wisdom of the body, we will practice being an affirming witness and how to suggest forms.

Saturday 10-1, bag lunch 1-2, 2-4:30
You will have additional opportunities to guide a participant, notice the different needs and styles of focus sessions, and consider ways your body wisdom can be useful in affirming others.

Bring Lunch to share.
