Praying the Body
Cynthia Winton-Henry
Pittsburgh, PA
Saturday October 9, 9:30a-2:30p
Too many words? Want a practice that aims for joy? Seeking meaningful connections? Wondering about body and soul? This workshop offers a soulful place to discover, discern, and welcome the wisdom of the body through practices that develop ease in movement, voice, stillness, and sharing our stories. Beginning with one-hand dances, one-breath songs, hand-to-hand movement with partners, and thirty-second stories about light-hearted and meaningful topics, you’ll make deep connection through surprisingly playful means. Explore the power of witnessing, noticing and affirmation in soul work. As Cynthia has experienced in many cities in India, InterPlay opens paths of connection between cultures, classes, and faiths.
This workshop offers a special opportunity to interplay with the guests of First United Methodist’s weekly soup kitchen, building bridges of affirmation with the poor. A unique and enriching opportunity for spiritual directors, therapists, clergy – anyone interested in integrating body, mind, heart, and spirit.
