An Outdoor storytelling workshop & Picnic!

Join Masankho International storyteller for this one day workshop on the craft and magic of telling personal stories. Our lives are filled with many adventures, wonderful moments, tough challenges and great and/or painful gatherings. How do we find the words and how do we put those words together? This will be the focus of this one day workshop. During this workshop you will:

1. How to find the words that best express what you are trying to convey 2. How to put those words together for maximum effect with minimum effort 3. The joy and magic of using Improvising techniques to create stories 4. How to effectively use rhythm, song and movement to tell your story

this will be achieved by learning:

How to use your voice properly / How to create and fully express characters in your story / How to pace your stories and speaking / How to use the body to express yourself / The art of telling stories in groups (duets & more) / How to use your voice in new and interesting ways / How to effectively use eye contact / How to properly use humor / How to use singing when appropriate

A copy of the video will be given to you to Keep and review!

He learned the fine arts of storytelling and dance from his Malawian culture spending many long days and nights listening to stories and dancing to music that captivated his mind, shaped his being, nourished his soul and strengthened his spirit. Using performing arts Masankho motivates and inspires people of all ages to work together to bring about peace, social justice and cultural understanding. In 1997, he started UCanDanc—African Healing Arts to bring his passion for dance and storytelling to communities around the world. Masankho has been a Certified InterPlay Leader since 1999.
