Join Masankho Kamsisi Banda (www.ucandanc.org) for a weekend of dancing and playing, drumming and leading. Masankho brings his dancing-Buddha smile here to Our Very Own Asheville! This auspicious appearance will be coming to pass the weekend of May 6-8th, 2011. Yes, that's a whole weekend long to soak in the healing salts of the wisdom and way of the bodyspirit.

Moreover, the theme (or particular aroma of those healing salts) we'll be soaking in is **ANCESTORS** Dancing with the Ancestors... Stories of our Ancestors... Songs to those whose Ancestors we are... Stillness on behalf of the Ancestors of the world. What does playing with this seed theme inspire in us? The weekend will be geared gently towards performance, incrementally building in witnessing each other before offering a casual performance we can invite our friends to.

Masankho is an international InterPlay leader, storyteller, dancer/drummer, and educator specializing in the African Healing Arts, and Peacemaking. I find that he brings unique experience as well as an enlivening, empowering approach to creating in community. In his workshops, I felt in a new way the unique offering my voice, my story, my dance in life brings--not only to those immediately around me in the moment, but to my people, my communities wherever and whomever they are--and to the world.

Absolute Beginners welcome! Experienced Performers welcome! Self-proclaimed Advanced InterPlayers welcome! Out-of-Towners welcome! Limited homestays available.

Cost: $225 for the whole weekend. Friday night: $10 in advance/$15 at the door. Sunday performance: $5
