Community Day and Performance Night

a full day of play followed by an evening performance

Saturday February 9th, 10 am to 4:30pm community day, 7pm to 8:30pm performance

We will have a morning and afternoon session of InterPlay followed by an evening performance (with a fantastic house band). You can come for one session, both, just the evening, all three, any combination you want. If you want to come to the performance and perform, you need to attend at least one of the day sessions. But there is no obligation to perform at all. This is a great day to bring new people in that you have wanted to introduce to InterPlay. Or bring friends and family in the evening to witness you perform. 10:00 – 12:30 downstairs leader: lead by CathyAnn and Marty.. 12:30 – 2 lunch (can eat downstairs at the Friends Meeting House). 2-3:30 upstairs lead by James Schattauer. 3:30-4:30 upstairs Open Play.. 4:30-6 break (no eating at the Friends Meeting house, but you can hang out in the meeting room) 6pm musicians warm up 6:30 players warm up 7-8:30 performance: Celia and ??? lead the evening performance 9pm must lock up.

Cost: (suggested donation of) $10 for morning, $10 for afternoon, $15 for performance, $25 for entire day and evening

Registration/Information: no registration needed, just show up

Hi! I am one of the many wonderful leaders for the Twin Cities' InterPlay community. You will find me at most of the PlayGroups happening, and am the usual leader in our Sunday night group, and share leadership on Wednesday mornings

I am a wildly happy, playful and energetic person, with much to offer anyone who wants to enter into a spirit of creative play with me!

I am also available to teach specialized workshops and courses, to provide ceremonial services, and to offer coaching in personalized sessions using InterPlay, including:

CathyAnn Beaty
CathyAnn Beaty, MDiv, is a master InterPlay leader, dancer and visual artist. She has been working with ongoing groups of therapists, clergy and other helping professionals for the past 12 years through her business SoulPlay, www.soulplay.org and has developed new approaches to healing based both on her professional and personal experience. CathyAnn is an ordained minister and began her InterPlay journey in 1989 when serving as pastor at Spirit of the Lakes UCC. She got her Masters of Divinity at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities in 1984 and did her Clinical Pastoral Education at Hennipen County Medical Center in Minneapolis. She served three parishes over 15 years. CathyAnn leads the InterPlay Life Practice Program, The InterPlay Way, performance workshops, couples classes, mentors leaders in training and directs SoulPlay Performance Ensemble. She has taught InterPlay in India, Australia and around the United States.
Marty Roddy

Marty Roddy has been creating all his life: writing and telling stories, dancing, singing, creating connections with individuals and social movements and designing ritual for many types of communities and events. InterPlay allows him to combine all his passions in helping unlock the creative power within each body and within the GroupBody of communities large and small.

His formal education includes undergraduate work in Literature and Peace Studies at Clarke College, as well as graduate work in Theology and the Arts at United Seminary of the Twin Cities. He was introduced to InterPlay in 1996, is a Certified InterPlay Teacher offering many types of classes and workshops, and performs with SoulPlay Performance Ensemble.

As a teacher he shares an abundant heart and encouraging wisdom, knowing that all bodies are full of beauty and playful soul.

James Schattauer
James Schattauer (www.jamesschattauer.com) has been an InterPlay enthusiast for over 14 years. As a certified teacher of InterPlay, he leads groups of adults and young children in the delight of improvised play. Using movement, spoken word and music making, James helps create a safe playground for participants to enjoy the freedom of self-expression. His musical talents as a singer, song-maker and guitarist, distinguish his offerings as an InterPlay leader.
