Sounding the Soul with Andy Pritchard's wall hangings

Soul Stories

an interactive performance with fabric and fantasy

Boston, MA

June 5, Thursday 7 to 9 pm - exhibit dates are June 2-29

All are cordially invited to the opening celebration of “Soul Stories” on Thursday, June 5, from 7 to 9 PM. At the Weston Public Library. Refreshments will be served and InterPlayers will perform with the wall hangings. Mysterious and familiar, Pritchard’s painterly murals portray dreamscapes populated by figures that resemble old-world marionettes. Her images evoke the magical exuberance of paintings by Marc Chagall and the sensuous gilded figures of Gustav Klimt. Constructed of fabrics in an astonishing array of colors and textures, the hangings are like bas-relief sculptures. Pritchard’s murals also tell stories, chronicling a quest for wholeness and peace. A practitioner of a healing modality known as the Internal Family System, Pritchard finds inspiration in dreams and guided imagery and gives color and form to these images and characters in her wall lush hangings. location information: 87 School St, Weston, MA 02493 (781) 786-6150
