The Play of Kabbalah: A Mystic Tech Retreat

Talented spiritual InterPlay teachers illuminate wisdom for our time.
Cassandra Sagan and Cynthia Winton-Henry

Oakland, CA

Feb 27-28 Friday 7pm-9, Saturday 9:30-4

Cynthia Winton-Henry invites you to play with Cassandra Sagan, a Maggid, Jewish storyteller/teacher/preacher and designated Leitzah Kadoshah, Holy Clown. Currently on the faculty of Reclaiming Judaism's Jewish Spiritual education Maggid- Educator Ordination Training Program, this poet, singer/songwriter, performer, and InterPlay Leader has worked with adults and children for over 30 years to access their full creative brilliance. This weekend she travels from Portland, Oregon to Oakland for a guest appearance. Come for a Friday night and Saturday of deep play, exploration, and celebration of the Jewish mystical wisdom of Kabbalah.

Beginning in the Zohar, the wild, psychedelic source text of Kabbalah, we'll study with our bodies, our breath, our stories, and each other, discover new angles and angels of perception and expression to create beauty out of brokenness, and heal the past. Creatively explore what Isaac Luria, the great 16th century Kabbalist from Tzfat, taught - in a beginning, Elohim poured light into the container of the world, but the vessel was not strong enough and it shattered, sending the sparks of light in every direction. This did not happen once, but many times. Our work, tikkun olam, is to repair the shattered worlds by gathering the Holy sparks and releasing the light that is hidden in husks of habit and forgetfulness.

No previous knowledge or experience with Kabbalah required. Come for both days or just Saturday. Simple lunch provided.

Cost: $125 includes lunch. $95 for saturday only
