Listen to The Earth Body

Leadership for Earth: A Learning Retreat

Embodied approaches to environmental challenges
Phil Porter and Cynthia Winton-Henry

Philo, CA

March 3–6, 2016 • Thursday Dinner – Sunday Lunch

Do you carry a fundamental concern for the future of life on Mother Earth?

In this special "untensive" retreat, come to explore and expand your commitment to the health of the planet, find community in your care and concern and learn ways that your living, breathing, imagining and action can be most aligned and effective.

InterPlay co-founders Cynthia Winton-Henry and Phil Porter are gathering earth experts from within the InterPlay community and are inviting all others to join in a time of play, conversation, plotting, lament and celebration. All this will take place in the beauty of the redwoods of Northern California at River's Bend Retreat Center.

The basic body wisdom of InterPlay aligns well with other earth wisdom, like these principles from permaculture: natural ways of being complement one’s host, support bio-diversity, act with elegant efficiency, behave interdependantly and seek a path of resilient beauty.

Invited leaders include:

  • Laurie Adams, Rivers Bend Retreat Center owner/manager
  • Sheri Prud'homme, Unitarian Universalist Minister and doctoral student studying Yosemite
  • Nika Quirk, Core Faculty, Meridian University Integral MBA
  • Soyinka Rahim, Grass Roots Spiritual Practitioner
  • Sophie Schultze-Allen, artist and dancer, Americorps, doing marketing for a Housing NGO
  • Judy Shook, Creation Spirituality Leader, United Methodist Pastor
  • Keith Warner, Franciscan Brother and Faculty at the Miller Institute at Santa Clara University

We’ll dive into the InterPlay forms during this event to listen to “what the body wants” as well as share ideas, soak up beauty, and listen to the wind.

$275 for room and board (including all meals from Thursday night through Sunday lunch and rooms in the Vintage Cabins or the Lodge).

$375 is the recommended tuition but please simply pay what you can.

You are welcome to arrive at 3 pm or later on Thursday. Dinner will be served at 6 pm and we will gather as a group at 7 pm. We will leave after lunch on Sunday.

Cost: $375 or pay what you can. See room and board costs above.
