The InterPlay Life Practice Program is an active, creative way to change your life and change your world.

• Find easy ways to change what you want to change in your life: relationships, work, community, home, spirit, body image…

• Discover your hidden resources.


Immerse yourself in the system of InterPlay—ideas and practices that can move you from where you are to where you would like to be.
Find freedom through movement, story, sound, and stillness, and discover creative ways to change what you want to change in your life.
You may use this supportive, affirming community to help you shape your life in ways that are best for you. You will get individual attention from the program leaders who will help you identify your personal desires and intentions.

Although some previous experience with InterPlay is encouraged, there are no prerequisites for taking part in the InterPlay Life Practice Program.

The Elements of the Life Practice Program

• The Secrets of InterPlay, a multi-day event, begins the Life Practice Program. It is an opportunity to immerse yourself in the InterPlay forms and tools in a supportive community. If you missed the Raleigh, NC Secrets of InterPlay, you can take any Secrets to complete your Life Practice Program.

• A series of 2nd Saturday gatherings from September 2023 to May 2024 from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm with your Life Practice Program group for play, presentation, discernment, and interaction, where you will have a chance to explore new creative possibilities in a supportive community.

• Receive three focus sessions during which you receive personal support from the program leaders to learn how to access your body wisdom, learn a new tool/skill, and apply it to whatever situation you desire.

• A Body-Spirit Celebration during the final Saturday to play with the InterPlay forms and share them with each other in a celebratory and honoring way.

• Reading and writing practices which will help you apply InterPlay insights to your own life and will be based on the InterPlay book Having It All: Body, Mind, Heart & Spirit Together Again at Last. The reflections can take many different forms: writings, letters, artwork, poetry, photography, etc.

The InterPlay 8 Core Elements Self-Study that will give you a more in-depth understanding of the InterPlay system.

Covid Policy: Masks are welcome and optional. Please do an at-home Covid test before attending the gathering and do not attend if you have symptoms of illness.

If you missed the Raleigh, NC Secrets of InterPlay, you may attend any Secrets event to complete your Life Practice Program.

Program Cost

The cost of the InterPlay Life Practice Program is $2,250 and includes the cost of attending a Secrets of InterPlay.


Repeating the Program
Anyone who has previously completed the Life Practice Program is eligible for the repeater rate of $1,100 including Secrets ($800 for the Life Practice weekends only).

Financial Assistance
Diversity is a great gift in the InterPlay experience. Based on our commitment to Racial Equity and Transformation (read our statement here) and our understanding of other structural and personal inequalities that exist, Body Wisdom is committed to making our programs financially accessible.

Life Practice Program Attendance
Community building is an integral part of the InterPlay system. To experience the most out of a Secrets of InterPlay weekend or the Life Practice Program, we recommend that you attend all of the sessions. This immersion into the forms and tools of InterPlay is most effective when the group stays together over time. If you are considering becoming an InterPlay leader, participation and attendance for the full program, including attending a Secrets of InterPlay weekend, will be necessary to complete the Life Practice Program, which is the first step in becoming a certified InterPlay leader. Continuing Education Credit
Up to 55 CE credits (including the Secrets of InterPlay) for various healthcare and allied healthcare professions are available for those practicing throughout the U.S. and for educators only practicing in Illinois. CE pre-registration is required before the start of your event. Email Jane Siarny directly at interplaychicago@sbcglobal.net (not the office) to APPLY for CEUs. There is a charge of $25-$40 per program. CEUs are offered through Continuing Education Institute of Illinois or R. Cassidy Seminars.

Leaders
Terry McCarthy
Terry McCarthy is a musician, teacher, performing artist with 20 years’ experience teaching InterPlay. He is a founding member of Off the Deep End Ensemble and former director of Inner Voices vocal ensemble. He and his wife Laurece West led InterPlay performance troupe Impromptu Players. Laurece and Terry write and perform their original songs together. Terry is a former elementary school teacher with a BS degree in Arts for Children with Music Emphasis. He teaches InterPlay playgroups, performance, storytelling and writing classes. Terry has served as a bodyspirit mentor with the Raleigh InterPlay Life Practice Program for over 6 years.
Aviva Enoch
Aviva has been co-leading the monthly Chapel Hill, NC playgroup for more than a decade. She organizes regional InterPlay Untensives, where she also leads workshops and focus sessions and improvises music at the keyboard. She is the Music Director at the UU Congregation of Hillsborough where she plays the piano and leads a small choir. She enjoys designing music for worship and exploring a wide variety of styles--including improvisation to create the feeling of sacred space. Aviva holds an MM in Piano Performance. She teaches around 30 young piano students at her home studio--applying the InterPlay principles to her teaching--especially exformation, incrementality and easy focus. Previously, she led joyful, playful music and movement classes for adults with young children. She also spent a decade working in public radio, where she produced an eclectic variety of music shows, was a DJ, and did arts reporting locally and sometimes nationally.
