Shine Your Light on Changing the Race Dance

A heart-centered inter-generational evening of exploring race and racism.

Join us for an inspiring, powerful, and heart-centered evening in which we will be guided through storytelling, movement, and stillness to explore racial healing and equity in our community and society. This event will be inter-generational and all are welcome; please see the schedule below. This workshop will be led by Soyinka Rahim, founder and director of OurThing Arts Company and BIBOLOVE, is a Certified InterPlay Leader. Her work as a conference weaver and workshop leader includes Race Forward, National Association for Independent Schools Teachers of Color, Boys and Girls Clubs, Spiritual Directors International, and the Parliament of World Religions. Soyinka is a gifted leader, who invites all participants to be fully present and engaged in her workshops; she carries life changing inspiration and wisdom into all of her work. Cost: $0-20 sliding scale Location: as soon as the location is determined, we will update you! 6-7pm: "Let Your Light Shine" inter-generational time of to celebrate and lift up the unique light we each bring to our community. 7-7:15pm: Mini break; a natural time for families with young ones to head home for bedtime. 7:15-9pm: "Changing the Race Dance" to increase our awareness to help end racism in our community and social networks.

Áine deDanaan, MDiv
Áine E. deDanaan, MDiv, Dipl. ABT, guides people to navigate life transitions with clarity, grace, creativity, and courage. Ordained by her Celtic ancestors, certified as an InterPlay leader, and a seasoned Asian Bodywork Therapist; she graduated from Pacific School of Religion in 2003, studying dance & creative arts as tools for: transformation & spiritual wellness, worship, and dream work. Áine embraces joy through playful, regenerative practices, parents two daughters--one with complex medical and educational needs, and supports clients with chronic and neurodegenerative diseases.
CC King
CC is a Certified InterPlay Leader Boston-area coordinator and grateful mentor to InterPlay Leaders in Training and Harvard Divinity School Students. She has been practicing the joyous unfolding of InterPlay for over 20 years and currently serves on the Body Wisdom Board and the Integrity & Innovation Council. CC is an expressive therapist, visual artist, teacher and community activist. Dedicated to inviting respectful & celebratory relations with Earth and her beings, CC designs workshops, organic sculpture and public performance. She values play with elders, Memory Cafes, cancer support and inclusive healing & transformation. Her background includes nonprofit management, art and family therapy, trauma-informed InterPlay and a life-long commitment to finding sustenance, creative activism, and joyful reverence in the natural world.
Soyinka Rahim
Soyinka Rahim (GSP) is a grassroots spiritual practitioner who is the founder and artistic director of BIBOLOVE.US which stands for "breathe in breathe out love." She was also the founder of OurThing Performing arts company, where she created the modern-day folk dance play An Altar Piece to Alter Peace, a multimedia, intergenerational performance piece for peace. Her work BIBOLOVE taps into the power of sound, movement and visual art, raising the love vibration of peace, love, joy, happiness, health, grace, and ease. BIBOLOVE supports our personal and collective life challenges by feeding the love frequencies for generational, cultural, racial, body, and economic unity.  Soyinka has brought her wisdom as a spiritual director, conference weaver and workshop leader to InterPlay Certified Life practice, Facing Race, National Association for Independent Schools for Teachers of Color,   Boys and Girls Clubs, Spiritual Directors International Conference, and the Parliament of World Religions.
