An InterPlay-For-All Saturday Event
Phil Porter

Asheville, NC
Saturday, February 22, 9:30am - 9:00pm
Join InterPlay Co-founder Phil Porter, from the San Francisco Bay Area, for a day of playful exploration and community joy. We will mess around with moving, stories, sound, connection, and stillness in the typically incremental and affirming way that InterPlay offers.
Come to unlock the "sneaky deep" wisdom of your body to learn a bit more about yourself and others. Phil will share some of the key life tools that are part of the InterPlay system for personal growth and community connection.
You are welcome if you are brand new to InterPlay or if you have been doing it for years. Come for creating new levels of community! Expect to laugh!
In the evening we will create an informal performance jam, with opportunities to create stuff on the spot. We will amuse, move, and delight each other! Attendance and/or participation in the evening performance is optional.

Phil trained as a textile artist and graphic designer at the University of California at Berkeley, where he also spent a great deal of time studying modern dance. He has designed costumes and liturgical garments, and has worked in a variety of artistic media. He is currently obsessed with polymer clay.
Phil has immersed himself in the process of telling improvised "big body stories" that often address grand social and political issues as well as the mundane details of daily life, turning them into a spirited melange of movement, story and sound.
