Using INTERPLAY to go deeper into our different ENNEGRAM perspectives
Using INTERPLAY and the ENNEAGRAM to Study and Forget the Self

Alexander, NC
Sat-Sun 2 days Sept 15-16 Fri. evening to Sunday noon
The Enneagram is a powerful and insightful tool for studying and then transcending the self. It clearly maps out nine distinctive personality types – each having a distinct and well-developed style supported and maintained by behavioral, emotional and mental habits. Understanding these types leads to compassion for oneself and others; it enables you to work acceptingly with the compulsive and restrictive habits of yourself and the other “types” in your life.
In this Enneagram workshop, you will identify your unique style (your type) and see it as the pair of glasses through which you view and define your world. You will also come to understand what motivates others – their fears and defenses – and how these drive them to react as they do. When you can set aside the conditioned reactions of your self, you can then be fully present to - enlightened by – all things that come into your world.
This workshop will be experiential and interactive. We will use Interplay* forms of movement, storytelling, and stillness to explore each of the nine types within ourselves. Also included will be songs and videos, all relevant to each type and in an environment of safety, playfulness and fun!
*Interplay is a set of tools and ideas using our body wisdom to help us get to our inner wisdom. Based in affirmation and looking for the good, it is a way to integrate body, mind and spirit. This week-end will be co-led by Rev. Nancy Spence, teacher and guide of Anattasati Magga Soto Zen Sangha.
