“when I speak of singing, I do not consider this to be an artistic exercise, but the possibility, and the means to recognize oneself, and to transform this recognition into conscious life.” Alfred Wolfsohn

Who is this for? Anyone who desires to sing!
Whether it is to find more emotional articulation and range, explore the many voices that exist within ones self or to practice an embodied approach to one’s own life story.

About Voice Movement Therapy. An exploration of the self through the voice used to investigate, open up and expand the range of expression. It allows the freedom to convey our emotional states, our conscious thoughts and our unvoiced selves. A holistic approach grounded in the body it was developed by Paul Newham of the UK drawing on the pioneering work of singing teacher Alfred Wolfsohn, actor Roy Hart and psychologist Carl Jung. The discipline encompasses voice, music, theatre, the in-depth work of therapy and the recognition that to be creative is intrinsic to the human condition. It provides a means by which to move past the confines of our individual story.
