Leah Mann will lead "adaptable to all abilities" skills on soft fabric slings, combined with InterPlay improvisational movement and story forms, solo and group. No previous aerial skill necessary! No previous InterPlay experience necessary either! Only essential skill will be willingness to play! Following the workshop will be an informal performance featuring workshop participants. After 15 years of working with heavy metal (musical sculpture with her company, Lelavision), Leah has taken up experimenting with flight on soft fabric slings (4yrs). Come let your stories fly! Come begin the New Year in a truly uplifting way! Come play and be witnessed in delight!
Leah graduated from the University of GA in 1985 (BSed). Leah is the Director Emeritus and Co-founder of the award-winning company, Moving in the Spirit - a dance and urban outreach program in Atlanta, which has been thriving since 1987 and selected as one of the top 10 youth development organizations in the nation. She is Co-founder of Lelavision Physical Music with partner, Ela Lamblin - melding dance with kinetic musical sculpture in Seattle since 1996 www.lelavision.com . Lelavision tours stateside and abroad to festivals and theaters, working with entities such as the Cirque du Soleil, Emory University, Haifa International Childrens Festival, Teatro De La Tozza and the National Acoustical Society to name an array. Currently Lelavision is in collaboration with 6 prestigious scientists from around the country funded through Emory University''s College of Science and Society and the National Science Foundation. Leah is the co- founder and administrator of Integrated Music, a roster of 12 artists providing music on wards and at bedside in Seattles Harborview and UW Medical Centers. Leah also teaches restorative movement to Alzheimer patients at the Vashon Community Care Center, emphasizing developmental patterns for brain health. Leah has been doing InterPlay for 15 years!

Leah Mann
Leah Mann (she, they) is a dancer, choreographer, somatic practitioner, and arts educator, focusing on embodied social justice. They are Co-Director of Lelavision", a performance and production company based on Vashon Island, WA, that combines kinetic sculpture, dance and music. Leah is Artistic Director Emeritus of Moving in the Spirit, a youth mentorship, urban outreach program, utilizing the praxis of dance to develop life skills (Atlanta, GA). Through their kinetic learning style, they work to cultivate community through the common denominators of the human experience. Most recently they have been facilitating movement, music, and play with medically fragile youth, Muslim immigrants, and pregnant people in recovery. They are in an ongoing science-art collaboration with Morehouse College / Andrew Young Center for Global Leadership focusing on wellness and healthy ecosystems micro to macro. Leah has been InterPlaying since its inception!!
