November 10th 8-10am

Trauma Informed InterPlay for Mindful Professional Practice The professional practice of being trauma sensitive, responsive and informed requires skillfulness. The only way to develop that skillfulness is to practice. What if the practice could be fun, active and illuminating? This is not a typical "training"!! This workshop is designed to foster resilience in light of “trauma-awareness” through a 2-hour long experiential discovery session. InterPlay is a rich pedagogy that is applicable to a wide range of professional fields that serve people with trauma, as a method for self-care and processing secondary trauma and/or compassion fatigue. Teachers, Social Workers, Mental Health Professionals, and Non-traditional educators are the target participants because of their need to have mindful self-care and a wide variety of strategies for differentiating instruction and interaction methods with students and clients. Beth Sarver is the Trauma Outreach Coordinator at Truman Medical Center's Behavioral Health Resilience Incubator and a Certified Leader of InterPlay.
