Wisdom of the Body groups are open to anyone longing for deeper access to InterPlay’s body wisdom tools and playful forms of movement, sound and story. If you are looking for nourishment, support & attention, this is the place to be. 2-3 hour sessions are designed for ample warm up, reflection and moving into deeper play through more noticing, witnessing, savoring and exploring.
InterPlay is a creative process for personal & community transformation. Through practical ideas and a system of practices rooted in storytelling, movement & sound; we gain access to our own “body wisdom” ~ what works best for us, what gives us purpose, what makes us feel fully alive. Facilitator Jane Siarny, MFA, 200-CYT, and certified InterPlay® leader is dedicated to uplifting the human spirit through creativity, community and spiritual practice. Her training and inspiration draws from classical & modern dance, improvisation, singing, poetry, yoga and InterPlay. Jane Siarny
Jane Siarny is dedicated to uplifting the human spirit through creativity, community building, and body-wise practices. At the 1991 National Sacred Dance Guild Festival, Jane discovered InterPlay and its co-creators, Phil Porter and Cynthia Winton-Henry. Jane was looking for something that would integrate her love of voice, music, improvisational movement and storytelling. With InterPlay she is able to integrate all these expressions and find a community based in affirmation, authenticity and the celebration of the human spirit.
In 1992 she co-founded OUTABOUNDS Performance Company that was housed at the Chicago Cultural Center where Jane directed the Hedwig School of Dance and the Dance Discovery Series. The company performed and taught workshops throughout the U.S.
Since co-founding InterPlay Chicago in 1994, Jane has been instrumental in leading the Life Practice Program to help people integrate the InterPlay philosophy and practices into their lives. She also serves as a Mentor in the InterPlay Leader Training Program and as Coordinator of the Life Practice Program. She is delighted to be collaborating with so many gifted InterPlay Leaders to Change the World One Play at a Time.
